Find and Seek

Find and Seek

Passion lives inside all of us. Our passion is identified by what comes naturally, what generates emotion and confidence. For me, my passion is beauty. I love to find it in unassuming places, explore it and grow it. I seek it everywhere. I see it everywhere. Harris Haus is a chapter in the story of my passion pursuit; another is Dwell with Dignity. This non-profit encompasses so much in so many ways, I’m simply in awe.

Dwell with Dignity was conceived by other passionate beauties who you can read all about here and has grown into hundreds of opportunities magnified exponentially.

The families impacted are you and me, just before the wonderful washes over.

These past few weeks, I, with the volunteers, have had the privilege to work on a few projects for our latest recipient. Behind the scenes, we dream, prep, anticipate and install together:

Shelves of donated and tired artwork waiting to become fresh and new

Frames carefully set aside to be reused with new art
Preparing the canvases for new, presonalized art
A painting reflecting the inspiration of the DWD recipient to be hung in her new home

Each family is carefully chosen, the design is created and the wait begins. Hours upon hours are filled with labors of love by the volunteers as they prepare each detail for the recipient.  Finally, all the pieces come together – installation day arrives and the family is welcomed to their newly adorned home.

Truth: seek and you shall find.  Passion is the Present.

Hello, friend!  I am so glad you are here.  If your day was anything like mine, you are surprised you even have time to read this. Take a deep breath, sit down and allow me one minute of your life to tell you why you do. As you think about all things you could be doing, take note of where you are right now. Is the view lovely? If so, enjoy it. Breath it in. Tuck some in your heart pocket. You are not there by accident. If your current view is less than, how would you change it? By physically moving? If not possible, what could we change to make it shine? For tiny instance: as I am writing this, I noticed the font was boring and as I looked at the page, I found myself squinting and pressing on, but not thrilled about it. So, I changed the font and the font size! Now, I love my view and it works better for me. It even inspires me to write more. See where I’m going with this? Yes, you’re exactly right. Change is a part of this crazy beautiful life and how great is it that we get to be part of it?! Big things are coming bearing your name. Be ready!
